Yes, SSP is offered to accepted students 100% free of charge. Aside from an electronic device and an internet connection, any resources necessary to complete a course are provided to students by WSF.

Lectures are recorded specifically for SSP and are taken asynchronously. Professors and expert teaching fellows join live calls on a weekly basis to discuss and expand on course material and to interact with the cohort.

While there are no formal age cutoffs for SSP, you must be able to discuss complex math and science topics at a deep level. You must also be able to participate in SSP for at least one year prior to entering college/university. Students who plan to take a gap year after high school are eligible to partake in SSP during their gap year.

A typical course runs 4–8 to weeks. All courses culminate in a live session with the course professor, during which scholars can ask any remaining questions they have.
